My series of passion blog posts for the first semester was centered around running and everything running encompasses. This discussed everything from the physical and mental benefits of it to advice on stretching and high-altitude training. Later in the year, I became injured and was unable to talk about my recent experiences with running. Because of this, I began discussing the ins and outs and strength training and the best way to start weightlifting. These posts compliment the overall theme by continuing to show how I am developing my ability to use rhetoric to convince and audience of my opinions. These Civic Issue blog posts were written in the spring semester of my freshman year. The main ideas of these posts were the environment and how humans are affecting the environment on a daily basis. Everything from pollution levels to harmful emissions were discussed to show how negatively we are impacting the Earth. These posts were meant to not only show the readers that a change must be made, but also cause the readers to take action in reducing their impact. In order to convince them of this I had to expand upon the rhetorical skills that I had developed in the class so far, complimenting my overall theme.
